Assessment criteria

Applicants are required to meet and continue to comply with the following criteria:

  1. Maintaining good academic standing and course progression with a minimum enrolment of two internal units per semester at CDU or a partner institution;
  2. Ability to assimilate harmoniously in a multicultural community environment;
  3. Willingness to participate and be involved in the residential community at IHD;
  4. Compliance with the university regulations which are on the Governance Page
  5. Ability to pay a four-week bond and maintain an ongoing financial commitment.

Where residents reside at IHD on the basis that they are a committed couple, at least one member of the partnership must meet the above enrolment requirement. Failure to remain enrolled will jeopardise the residency of both members of the couple. Both members of the couple must also adhere to conditions one through four above.

Applicants may be required to prove their suitability to be housed at IHD and this may include an interview.

All applicants must be 18 years or older at the time of residence unless prior approval is granted by management. To apply for underage residence please complete the parental consent form.

Contract Dates

IHD offers cheaper accommodation for residents who make the commitment to book for a full academic year. These contract dates and fees are fixed.

Accommodation contract dates are fixed and include orientation as a minimum:

  • Long-term contract: 21 February 2022 - 5 December 2022
  • Semester 1, 2022 contract: 21 February - 20 June 2022 (for people graduating mid year only)
  • Semester 2, 2022 contract: 8 August - 5 December 2022 (for people commencing at CDU midyear)

Only students studying for one semester will be permitted to apply for a single semester contract. Single semester applicants will need to justify this in the special requirements area located in the 'Confirm Completion of Application' section when applying or via email to the IHD Office. Each request will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

Terms and Conditions of Residency

All residents must read and agree to all IHD Residential Agreements and Terms & Conditions policies found on the Governance page.
